If the vehicle is at a set height, the height valve is in the so-called neutral position. At this time, both the intake valve and the exhaust valve are closed, and the air spring neither fills nor exhausts air.
1. Air filling condition (vehicle load quality increased)
As the vehicle load increases, the air spring is compressed, the body begins to sink, and the lever rotates around the driving axis, causing the eccentric pin to push the piston to the left and open the intake valve. Compressed air from the main wind side pushes the valve head, opens the check valve, and enters the air spring through the intake valve.
For the vehicle air spring suspension control system, it is often required that when the load quality changes greatly, the height valve can quickly fill and exhaust air, so that the vehicle can quickly restore to the set height. When the load quality of the vehicle changes slightly due to vibration and other reasons, the height valve keeps the pressure-holding state. When the load quality changes little, the height valve can fill and exhaust air slowly, which can make the height valve transition to neutral position steadily. At the same time, it can avoid frequent filling and exhaustion of the height valve and make rational use of the air source.
This has been reflected in the design of the height valve. From the piston rod structure, when the rotation angle of the lever is small, there is only a very narrow gap between the piston rod and the inner wall of the valve body, which can play a throttling role and reduce the filling speed. When the rotation angle of the lever is large, the piston rod continues to move to the left, and the gap between the piston rod and the valve body becomes larger, which can improve the intake air flow and achieve the purpose of fast filling.
After the car body rises to the set position, the lever returns to the horizontal position, the height valve is again in the neutral position, and the intake valve and check valve are closed.
2. Exhaust state (reduced vehicle load quality)
When the vehicle load decreases, the air spring expands, the car body begins to rise, the lever rotates downward around the driving axis, the eccentric pin pulls the piston rod to the right and opens the exhaust valve. At this time, the intake valve keeps closed under the action of the spring and the pressure on the valve head, and cuts off the passage between the total air and the air spring.
If the vehicle load quality decreases less, the air spring will exhaust slowly due to the throttling effect of the piston rod. If the mass of the vehicle is reduced more and the rotation angle of the piston rod is larger, the exhaust passage between the air spring and the piston rod is directly connected to achieve the purpose of rapid exhaust.
As the air pressure of the air spring decreases, the car body moves down gradually, returns to the initial horizontal position, makes the height valve in neutral position, and finally closes the exhaust valve.
